In 1756 Daniel Fowle printed New Hampshireâs first newspaper. Even now, besides the many other newspapers we have in our state, we can still read the New Hampshire Gazette, edited by Steven Fowle, a relative of Daniel Fowle, the paperâs founder.
Another famous newspaperman from New Hampshire was Horace Greeley. He founded the New York Tribune, which stressed the need to end slavery in America.
N is for Newspaper
The oldest newspaper in all of the land: the New Hampshire Gazette is published here yet.
